Leah and Jack had fun at the Winter Festival. Santa made an appearance. Big Christmas Tree lighting. Carolers sang, and plenty of Hot Chocolate and Christmas Cookies.
The most amazing thing for Leah and Jack was this guy and his snow machine. He covered a good part of the park in snow. So kids made snowmen and threw snow balls. Snow machine guy even made a giant wood slide covered with snow. Leah had fun sliding, and Jack had fun throwing snow at the sliders as the flew by!
Jack is very interested in Frosty the Snowman. He follows along with the story and pictures, smiling and then fixed eye brows and a stern look, then back to smiling. Frosty is fine literature and highly recommended by Jack!
Ate turkey, mash potatoes, and a lot of pie! Jack was the king of pie cruising this Thanksgiving. He would go around to each person who had pie, smile and point to their pie (or put his finger in their pie) and then he would get a bite! We are getting Holiday decorations out, and getting ready for Santa!
Blockman in action: Jack dumps the cart of blocks, picks up the blocks and reloads them into the cart, pushes the cart to a new location, dumps the blocks and starts the action over again!
It was an ongoing battle with the animals and Leah's garden. When watermelons would appear on the vine, we would wait to let them grow and ripen... then before we could pick them, gone! Leah kept up with the watering and we did manage to get a couple of miniature watermelons at the end of Summer. Leah and Jack were happy with that, and the watermelons were surprisingly sweet.
So when we start singing Horsey Horsey, Jack runs to his room, pulls the Rocking Horse to where we are, hops on and starts riding and singing! With the occasional shouts of GO GO!
Leah does a great job of setting up a play adventure...
she gathers toys and puts them in place for fun...
Jack waits until she is just about done, then grabs some of the toys and runs away yelling!
Leah chases after him... and then the real adventure begins!
Leah and Jack surveying an area to set off grocery store fireworks! As evening came, so did the rain. In between light showers, we set off the fireworks. Leah, Jack and friends (full of hotdogs and cookies) sat on the porch clapping and cheering the fireworks. At one point, they even broke into song. I am not sure which was more fun, the fireworks, or watching them celebrate!
Leah has a green thumb. Planting, watering and tending her garden. She has several flower boxes that she cares for. This all started with her watering the pine cones and dandelions in the yard... we refocussed her to flowers!
